Brilliant !!

best one for learning pronunciation

Vowels

This is is pretty good. I love to fact that it offer multiple ways to learn. This is the best out no doubt about it. I would like for it possibly fix part I believe to be flaw. The e is suppose to make an A sound as in age, ape, train and may for example. Also it needs the E sound as in egg, end and says. Im a developer and would love to help you with this.

Oman

Thanks you jastn

Wow

Its so wonderful and very precise

Perfect!

Im absolutely in love with this app and how easy its making it to learn and memorize the sounds of the English language. I love that it gives an example for each sound by showing you a word using the sound. I also like the quizzes because it gives me some transcription practice. Very helpful!

This app is awesome for English as second language learner

You can feel how useful it is

More a Transcription App than a Pronunciation App

This app has a very specific purpose: making the connection between phonemic transcriptions (using the International Phonetic Alphabet) and spelling and sound at the word level. While it is great to see both American and British English included in one app, the learner must accept that practice and quiz sections will only accept one transcription (even if the word has variable pronunciation with alternate transcriptions). The central pronunciation chart has a few technical flaws but is still quite usable once you get used to it. This could be a useful tool for the student of phonetics and phonology seeking practice with transcription. As a pronunciation training tool, it is less promising due its lack of description of articulatory features and being limited to single word utterances. Great for new teachers!

If youre new to the phonetic chart and need some help learning it, this is a great app. The quizzes are fun. Give it a try...

Awseome

This app is absolutely awesome! Im really in love with the pronunciation chart, the practice and quizzes we can make.

Sri

The proportion of the screen in this app is wrong. All you see is a square that shows part of the apps screen not the entirety of it. I am not sure what is wrong in its development but it does not work properly.

Oh well.

This app was ok until I just updated it. Does not open despite being ios6 compatible. Guess its not. Deleted once and downloaded from the cloud. Still didnt open. Oh well. Deleted it again.

DISAPPOINTED

Bought for 8yr. old grandson w/speech problems. Now please tell me how is he going to recognize these letters when they are written in Old English style. Here in the USA we are taught to write/read simple block print. So please correct this problem for our small children in the States cause they are confused enough, especially the ones with problems.

Really good app for those who are just starting to learn phonetics. To the ones complaining about the"block letters," its a app for phonetics-not the alphabet.

Great!!

As a speech pathologist undergrad this has helped me so much this semester!! Thank you for being free!

Masters SLP student
